Making his debut for Chelsea’s first-team in the 2-1 win over Arsenal, Tariq Lamptey could be seen as the future at right-back at Stamford Bridge.
He’s also played twice in the FA Cup so far, coming off the bench for both games, and it seems Frank Lampard sees a future for him at the club.
However, the 19-year-old has a big decision to make in the coming months, as his contract in London expires at the end of the season, which has attracted a lot of attention from England and Europe.
TuttoMercatoWeb on Wednesday reveal that both Milan and Lille have made offers to the player for a free transfer in the summer.
As well as those two contracts, it’s reported Brighton, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace have all put £5m on the table to get him in January and save themselves a wait.
That being said, TuttoMercatoWeb make it clear Lamptey ‘wants to play among the big names’ and ‘is attracted to Milan’.
Now it’s up to the youngster to decide what he wants to do, but if Lampard has plans for him going forward, perhaps it would be best to play the long game, renew at Chelsea and keep plugging away to break through at Stamford Bridge.
If that isn’t the case, there are worse places than Milan to head to.
