The word ‘leader’ is not often combined with the words ‘Samir Nasri’, but on Tuesday Marca say that’s what he’s already become for Sevilla.
Manchester City’s loan star is the ‘natural leader’ for Sevilla right now, and whilst that’s meant more in the way of being the team’s best player rather than a general taking his troops to battle, it’s just the latest compliment sent the way of Nasri.
That’s why it’s really frustrating Nasri had to come off during Sevilla’s last match with a hamstring injury. Marca explain the club are awaiting a second set of tests to confirm the original diagnosis, but they don’t sound too downbeat on the Frenchman’s behalf.
It’s also pointed out that as Nasri sat injured on the bench, he continued to passionately support his team. Nasri was ‘gesticulating, shouting, rising to his feet, despite limping’.
Already Nasri is very much involved and part of the team, on and off the pitch. The Spanish newspaper finish off by saying simply ‘Samir Nasri, jugador top’.
The ‘top footballer’ is getting back to his brilliant best, and hopefully the second scan on his injury results in a positive outlook.
