Barely used by Dean Smith ever since Aston Villa got promoted to the Premier League, Jonathan Kodjia’s career was starting to stagnate at Villa Park.
The striker has only featured six times in the Premier League this season, with all appearances coming from the bench, and even after Wesley Moraes seriously injured himself against Burnley, his manager preferred to start both Anwar El Ghazi and Jack Grealish up front over the Ivory Coast international.
With all that in mind, it isn’t surprising to see the 30-year-old linked with an exit, and France Football claim he’s already found one.
According to the French magazine on their website, the forward is already in Qatar, where he is expected to sign with Al Gharafa Sports Club.
The player has reportedly already passed his medical, and will now sign a three-year deal with the Qatari club, currently fourth in the league.
As for the fee Aston Villa will receive from the transfer, it’s said to be around €3m, bonuses included.
