Two days ago, The Telegraph in England reported Manchester City have joined Barcelona in chasing Villarreal youngster Iván Morante. It was also explained the La Liga side value the midfielder around £6m.
Morante turned 19 on January 15th and there was no mention in the report if either the teenager or his employer are interested in a transfer.
Friday’s edition of AS provides an update on a handful of youngsters who are currently with Villarreal’s academy.
Morante gets a mention and it’s claimed Pep Guardiola’s side and the Catalan club are the two options that have ‘sounded’ for him. The report refers to the player as ‘youth with a lot of projection’.
According to the Spanish newspaper, Morante has made a decision on his future and he wants to leave the Yellow Submarine.
AS doesn’t make it clear when Morante wants an exit, and also doesn’t state whether it’s Manchester City or Barcelona leading the race.
