With Atletico Madrid struggling to sign Edinson Cavani before the end of his contract with Paris Saint Germain, the Colchoneros have reportedly targeted another option for the centre forward position.
Marca reports today that Diego Simeone’s side have Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette in their sights. It’s said the Spanish side have many times ‘dreamed’ of his signing, and now have him as a plan.
And just like Atletico Madrid wouldn’t like to pay a fee for the signing of Cavani in January, they wouldn’t want to pay for Lacazette either.
That’s because they would be planning on making a swap deal, sending Thomas Lemar to the London side.
It’s said that Arsenal have also dreamed of signing Lemar, and they make it sound like it would be enough for a deal, as there are no details if Atletico would pay something extra.
The ‘plan’ for a Lacazette and Lemar exchange would be ‘totally activated’ once Cavani becomes ruled out by the La Liga side.
