Nottingham Forest are interested in Niort striker Ibrahim Sissoko and have made his signing a ‘priority’ this month.
That’s according to RMC Sport, who report the striker has earned plenty of interest after an impressive first half of the campaign.
Sissoko has nine goals in 18 games in all competitions this season, eight of which have come in the league, an impressive return for a striker playing for a side sitting in the bottom three of the Ligue 2 table.
That form has garnered plenty of interest outside of France, according to RMC, who claim that he is proving to be very popular in England in particular.
Sissoko has ‘several Championship teams’ chasing him, but it is Nottingham Forest who are the keenest at this moment in time.
Indeed, they have made adding the striker a ‘priority’ as Sabri Lamouchi looks to add more firepower to his side, who are fourth in the table after 25 games.
Besiktas have also made an inquiry, but it seems they and Nottingham Forest will face disappointment in their attempts to lure Sissoko away.
The 24-year-old wants to stay with Niort until the end of the season as he wants to ‘reach a plateau’, seemingly scuppering anyone’s chances of signing him this month.
