Stoke City were somewhat fortunate to come away from Old Trafford with a point on Sunday, and it was largely thanks to Manchester United’s failure at converting chances into goals.

The 1-1 draw took Stoke City to three points from their opening seven games in the current league campaign.

It could have been very different, but Stoke came away from the game with a positive boost after a very difficult start to the Premier League season.

One worrying part of the match was when Marko Arnautovic took a blow to the knee, and was clearly in quite some pain. Perhaps surprisingly, the Austrian forward continued on the pitch, but there were worries in Austria about subsequent international duty.

Therefore, Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung spoke to the player’s representative Leonhard Pranter, who told them: “Marko is good, he’s sure with the national team.”

Austria face crucial World Cup Qualifying matches against Wales and Serbia during the international break, and can’t really afford to lose a senior player to injury.
