Yannick Carrasco is keen on a return to Europe from his spell in China and Everton are one of the clubs interested in him.
The Belgian forward moved to Dalian Yifang in February 2018, signing for the Chinese side in a £9.45m deal from Atlético Madrid.
However, he has made the club aware that he wants to return to Europe, according to Arena Napoli, and is pushing to play football ‘that matters’ again.
He tried to leave in the summer but didn’t get his move, and his ‘intermediaries’ are actively trying to make it happen this month.
Napoli are one of the clubs interested in his signature, but they are not the only ones, with Everton and AC Milan also named as suitors by the website.
According to their information, Carrasco’s representatives have made it known that he could be available for ‘just’ €15-20m, although his salary is an issue.
He is on €8-10m a year in China, although were he to move, he would be willing to halve his salary and accept €4-5m.
His decision to return to Europe is one that his partner, Noémie Happart, supports, suggesting that it is a move all parties are keen on.
For now, Napoli are only considering it, with Carrasco thought of as a ‘sweet temptation’ in the background, mainly due to the fact his wages, even at €4m-a-year, would put him among the club’s top earners.
The same can probably be said for Everton. While the Blues are keen to add to their squad this month, Carrasco does not solve any of their current problems.
Instead, this feels more like their name being linked because of Carlo Ancelotti, something we’re going to see a lot this month.
