Watford are pushing to sign Udinese winger Ignacio Pussetto and could make their move in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who says the Premier League side are looking at adding the right-winger to their squad.
The 24-year-old has managed just ten appearances for Udinese this season and is unhappy with the situation at his current club.
He had ‘assurances’ from the management of the club that he would be a regular this season, but that has not proven to be the case, and now he is seeking a solution.
Watford are keen to offer that to him, with Di Marzio stating that they are ‘pushing’ to ‘catch him’ in the January window.
They are an option that Udinese ‘would not mind’ as it would allow the Argentine to find the ‘continuity’ he needs to ‘reevaluate himself’ in June.
That suggests any move to Watford would be on loan and not a permanent deal, before returning to Italy in the summer and deciding on his long-term future.
There is no mention of the finances of the deal, or whether Pussetto is keen on joining Watford, who are currently in the Premier League relegation zone, but it seems the interest is there nonetheless.
