Everton and Manchester City are both showing interest in Hoffenheim midfielder Dennis Geiger after his impressive performances this season.
The 21-year-old defensive midfielder has been impressing in the heart of Hoffenheim’s midfield this season and was one of the stars in the recent win over Bayern Munich.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Sport 1 reporting that Everton and Manchester City are both showing interest.
Pep Guardiola is said to be a ‘big fan’ and has already made enquiries, despite the signing of Rodri in the summer.
Everton, meanwhile, are merely observing him at this point and are only described as ‘interested’.
Should they want to take their interest further, though, it is likely they will face competition from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, with the Bavarians speaking about him in glowing terms behind the scenes.
Sport mentions no potential transfer fee, but it’s made clear that signing Geiger would not be an easy task.
He has a contract with Hoffenheim until 2022, and it doesn’t contain a release clause, so Everton and City would presumably have to make decent offers to tempt Hoffenheim into a sale.
