Andrea Conti only made 12 Serie A appearances for AC Milan last season, and they came mainly towards the end of the season.
Having returned from knee surgery in October, the 25 year old was glued to the bench until December, which probably helped rumours about his future grow.
Clubs made approaches during the summer, but Conti was determined to stick to his AC Milan dream, having joined the club in 2017 from Atalanta.
His agent has been speaking to MilanNews, and when asked if it’s true there were offers in the summer, and that the player rejected them, Mario Giuffredi said: “Yes, in the summer he had Parma, Werder Bremen, Crystal Palace, Spal, and other teams, at least 5-6 proposals. But he insisted on staying here at Milan. They were proposals that we didn’t look for, but they came by themselves.”
This season Conti has been on and off the bench, and on Sunday he started the match against Juventus. Despite his Milan side losing 1-0, the right-back put in a good performance.
He has a contract until June 2022, and given he didn’t jump at the Premier League chance with Crystal Palace, and that his agent is positive about a Milan future, it looks like the Eagles probably won’t be returning.
