Such is the level of talent emerging from Belgium these days; it’s no surprise that clubs from around Europe are regularly keeping an eye on the country.
Belgium is a hotbed of talent, and there are plenty of players there who the top clubs will be keeping a close eye on.
One such player is KV Mechelen’s Aster Vranckx. The 17-year-old midfielder has been impressing plenty with his performances so far this season, and it appears he’s caught the eye of Manchester City.
That’s according to KV Mechelen assistant coach Tom Caluwé, who has told Sport/Voetbalmagazine that the Premier League champions have been keeping an eye on the youngster, joining local rivals Manchester United on the list of interested suitors.
Caluwé, though, has advised the youngster to look at the like of Dennis Praet, Youri Tielemans and Leander Dendoncker before consider a potential move to the Etihad.
“We are talking about a particularly talented young player who is very important for our club and who we want to keep for as long as possible,” he told the magazine, relayed by Voetbal Nieuws.
“You first have to go here and only then look further. Dennis Praet, Youri Tielemans and Leander Dendoncker also followed the same good path.
“Because Juventus and Manchester City were also sending scouts and keeping an eye on Aster, with us and the national team.”
