Davy Pröpper swapped PSV Eindhoven for Brighton & Hove Albion in 2017 and since then, he’s been a regular inclusion in the Seagulls’ starting line-up.
The Premier League side were successful in avoiding relegation in the past two campaigns, and that’s given them something to build upon.
Graham Potter’s side have made several new additions to their squad and the midfielder, who is enjoying his life on and off the pitch with Brighton, believes his side have a squad to finish higher up the table.
Speaking to FCUpdate.nl, he said: “I’m fine here at my place. This is a great club and my family and I live in nice surroundings.
“With Brighton we want to stay away from the relegation zone this season. We have the team for that too. We want to play better football by having more ball possession and creating more opportunities.”
The Netherlands international still has two more years left on his contract with his current employer, but the player has opened the door for move away from the English club.
“If something really nice comes, I’ll certainly think about it. But that will be next year or a year later,” the Dutchman added.
Even though Pröpper is a regular at Brighton, things have not been smooth for him in the national team. The 28-year-old has been constantly in and out of the squad and even when he’s selected, he is forced to settle for the bench.
“My role was fairly clear in the last two games. I think we are all needed, so I am not worried. I report to Oranje as I always do. We’ll see what happens. I do my best, just like at my club,” Pröpper explained.
