According to Fotospor, Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli wants to sign Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso but the club’s manager Ersun Yanal believes they have no chance of landing the player.
Alonso has lost his place in the team to Emerson Palmieri and Fotospor say he could leave Chelsea in order to make a fresh start. Last night the Spaniard wasn’t involved in Chelsea’s defeat to Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup.
It’s claimed Comolli has told Ersun Yanal he could look to bring Alonso to Istanbul, but the Yellow Canaries’ manager said it will be a waste of time and they need to look at other realistic targets.
The Turkish media have repeatedly reported that Fenerbahce are looking for a player who can play both as a left-back and a central defender and they’ve been strongly linked with a move for AS Roma’s Aleksandar Kolarov.
Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo is also another option for the Super Lig side as they look to strengthen their defence before the Turkish transfer deadline.
