Most of the Spanish sources are joining forces to report Philippe Coutinho could be moving to Tottenham Hotspur on loan this week.
That’s in contrast to the earlier claims about Arsenal, which were very quickly dismissed in Spain. Given the Spaniards already in place at the Gunners, it would appear the Spanish media find it easier to have a story rubbished.
Just like AS stated earlier, Cadena Ser now say they’ve been assured by Arsenal sources that there’s no attempt being made to sign the former Liverpool star. That’s because he’s not the kind of player Unai Emery’s side are targeting right now, and his wages are above the level Arsenal would like to pay.
Cadena Ser also rule out a potential return to Liverpool and say that a loan to Tottenham is the ‘most feasible’ option at this stage of the window.
Barcelona want to send Coutinho ‘to the Premier’, and perhaps there’s a chance, although it’s not said, the Catalan club could subsidise some of the Brazilian’s high wages.
Over in Brazil, it was stated earlier that the player would quite like to stay in Barcelona, partly because his family is happy in the city. Arsenal was further dismissed due to a lack of Champions League football, however, Tottenham can offer that.
