Reported as being between Newcastle United and Leeds United, Facundo Colidio looks to be moving towards the latter of the two.
According to Sky Italia, it’s the Championship side who appear to be winning the race to sign the 19-year-old Argentine from Inter, despite previous reports suggesting Steve Bruce’s side were ‘pressing hard’ to acquire his services.
Leeds are said to have ‘overtaken’ Newcastle, with the signing potentially being finalised as early as Monday evening.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are reportedly currently in talks with Inter to ‘find the definitive agreement’ to get the transfer over the line.
There are no details regarding the move’s structure, and that could be what’s holding everything up, as previous reports suggested Leeds wanted a permanent deal, while Inter were against losing Colidio permanently, preferring a loan with a view to buy at €7-8m and a buy back clause of €10-12m.
If talks are advancing as smoothly as is being reported, we could find more out very soon.
