Trabzonspor yesterday confirmed the signing of Crystal Palace striker Alexander Sorloth on a two year loan deal.
The Turkish side made an official announcement to the Stock Market (KAP) about the deal and confirmed they’ll a pay €750K loan fee to Crystal Palace.
In addition, if Sorloth plays more than 50 percent of their games in the Super Lig and Europe, then a mandatory buying clause of €6m will be activated.
According to the official announcement, the player will earn €1.5m per season in Turkey.
The 23 year old spoke to the media during his unveiling ceremony and said, as covered by Ntvspor, he wants to achieve big things in Turkey with his new club: “I am very happy to join Trabzonspor. I know that I came to a club with high ambitions and want to play offensive football, so that suits my style.
“I am eager to meet my teammates and hope I will be able to help my team for next season.”
Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu praised the player, as covered by NtvSpor: “We’ve signed a good footballer and a good athlete. Our scouting team have identified Alexander as a target, and we are happy to bring him here. I hope he will adapt here quickly and score some goals.”
The attacker joined Crystal Palace from Midtyjland for €9m in 2018, but the youngster failed to prove himself in the Premier League. This led to a loan move to Belgian side Gent for the second half of last season.
He now gets the opportunity to kickstart his career in Turkey, with a club which puts faith in its young players.
