Lille president Gerard Lopez told Tuttosport on Friday that his side have received four ‘acceptable offers’ from big clubs for Nicolas Pepe.

Lopez further explained a proposal from Napoli satisfies the Ligue 1 club’s demand of €80m for the forward.

Sky Italia claims Arsenal are set to provide competition to Carlo Ancelotti’s side in signing the 24-year-old, after they forcefully entered the transfer race for the Ivory Coast international in the last few hours.

That’s despite previous claims saying the Gunners have been there for some time and have already offered €80m.

Napoli have offered an annual salary of €3.5m plus €500,000 in bonuses, while Pepe is demanding €5m per season.

The proposal made by the Gunners to the player is higher than that of Napoli and the north London club also offer better commission to the agent, as they want the representative to give priority to Unai Emery’s side.

The report claims it remains to be seen if Napoli will react to Arsenal’s offer and submit a better deal for Pepe.

Another Italian outlet Calciomercato also explains Arsenal have proposed an improved offer to Pepe and a hefty commission to the agent.

So many differing, and at times straight contradicting, claims have been made about Pepe’s future that it’s the messiest saga of the window. It would be no surprise if several agents are working on the deal and several stories are being sent out daily, along with further information from people close to the footballer and Lille.
