According to a claim in the Turkish media, Liverpool are still following the situation of Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.
We covered initial reports from Turkey that Liverpool are interested in the youngster and today Aksam say he’s still a target for the Premier League side.
The Merseyside club could be in the market for a goalkeeper this summer, but it’s likely to depend on Simon Mignolet’s situation. The Belgian has been linked with a move away from Anfield after spending the vast majority of last season on the bench.
If Mignolet moves on, Aksam claim Cakir could join Liverpool and Trabzonspor are expecting a bid for the 23 year old.
It’s claimed the Trazbon club are preparing for Cakir’s departure and have signed Altinordu’s promising young goalkeeper Erce Kardesler.
Aksam say Erce could possibly replace Cakir and if Liverpool table the right offer then it’s likely he will head to England in this window.
Cakir’s contract with the Super Lig side will expire at the end of June 2022.
