There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Southampton have taken an interest in Galatasaray forward Mbaye Diagne.
The Turkish champions are looking offload the Senegal international in this transfer window and the Premier League side are said to be in the race to sign the player.
Asksam have reported on the latest developments with regards to the future of Diagne, after recent claims the Istanbul club have been trying to sell him to Middle Eastern clubs. Gala are looking to raise revenue from the sale of their star forward in order to reinvest in their squad.
It’s claimed that having failed to sell Diagne, Galatasaray are now looking to England in their attempts to find the attacker a new club. Southampton could be a possibility and the Saints have made ‘contact’ over his availability.
In the past two seasons Diagne has been the most prolific forward in the Turkish Super Lig and last season he scored 31 goals.
He’s under contract with Cim Bom until June 2023.
