Far from being Javi Gracia’s first choice at left-back last season, Adam Masina might need to look elsewhere if he wants to play regular football during the 2019-20 campaign.

The 25-year-old, who was bought off Bologna for £4.5m just under a year ago, played second fiddle to José Holebas, only making 14 Premier League appearances, 11 of which were starts.

However, there are some in Italy who wouldn’t be against him returning to Serie A, namely Parma, who are looking to bolster that side of their defence.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italians have ‘sounded out’ the Watford defender about a possible move south, but the player’s answer has yet to be revealed.

Considering there isn’t much information, it wouldn’t be surprising if Masina was just one of a number of targets for the role at Parma, and the club are simply trying to work out which of them is the more feasible option.

Prior to his move to Vicarage Road, the Morocco born former Italy U21 international had made 131 appearances for Bologna in both Serie A and Serie B, scoring four goals and assisting teammates seven times.
