Maurizio Sarri is still Chelsea manager.
Despite claims from Italy last week that by now he’d be bothering the tabacs of Turin, he remains the manager at Stamford Bridge.
Several reports have claimed that’s because Chelsea are yet to find a successor to the Italian, and there were even claims this week that Newcastle United’s Rafael Benitez has been contacted.
Germany’s Bild now report Ralf Rangnick is an option.
He’s been repeatedly linked with a move to England, and is set to leave his role at RB Leipzig.
Bild say he’s on a shortlist, along with Frank Lampard and Benitez.
It’s made very clear that the claim doesn’t mean there’s been any negotiations between Rangnick and the Premier League club.
The 60 year has been the subject of many links to England. Often when a job is available, there’ll be a report in Germany of interest.
This could be just another time when Rangnick is pushed forward and then disappears from the race.
