It was a long time coming, but Bobby Adekanye will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season and joining Lazio on a free.
That’s what Corriere dello Sport are reporting on Friday, as they state ‘all that’s missing is the official announcement’ for the 20-year-old to officially complete his transfer to the Serie A side.
Starting back in January, the story surrounding the Netherlands U20 international always seemed to be heading towards a happy ending for the 20-year-old, who made it clear he would be leaving Anfield in search for first-team football.
Seemingly finding everything he needed in Rome, the youngster has put pen to paper to a four year deal that will keep him at the club until 2023.
Corriere state the decision to join Lazio came after a secret visit to the club in mid-April, where he also took some time out to visit the Coliseum, as you do when you’re on a secret visit.
Either way, an announcement shouldn’t be too far off, and we can soon put this story behind us, as can Liverpool and their fans.
