A week or so after the January window had closed, a big story came from Italy about Tottenham Hotspur and Ivan Perisic.
During the winter market it had been claimed the Croatian preferred the idea of moving to Spurs over their London rivals Arsenal. And in February it was claimed the club and player were ‘betrothed’ for a summer wedding.
Given Perisic is 30 years of ages and on relatively big wages, it didn’t sound like the most Spurs-like of transfer plan, but the claims were adamant. Things haven’t been quite as strong since, although Tottenham are routinely still linked with the Inter Milan player.
This weekend, Gazzetta dello Sport link Spurs again, bring Arsenal back into the picture, and say West Ham have now joined the chase.
‘Sirens’ are being sent on the transfer from London, and Tottenham have ‘turned on their headlights’ and shone the light at Perisic.
Inter want €35-40m, and it’s pretty sure any interested club would try and bring that amount down.
