With Rafael Camacho’s move from Liverpool to Sporting now getting closer, Portuguese newspaper O Jogo comes up with new claims today.
They say the youngster’s loan will actually be for one year and a half, and he will stay in Lisbon until the end of the 2019-20 season.
Local newspapers had previously claimed that Camacho would stay until the summer with an option of a further year, but apparently the clubs sorted the deal all at once.
O Jogo says that the player should arrive in Lisbon ‘in the next few days’, and has already spoken to some Sporting youth players about the situation at the club.
Although a few reports had mentioned a €15m release clause, there’s nothing about it in O Jogo’s report today.
As Camacho’s current contract with Liverpool expires in 2020, he should probably sign an extension with the club before making the loan move.
The 18-year-old played for 90 minutes in the Reds’ defeat against Wolverhampton in the FA Cup last night, in what was his farewell match.
