Miha Zajc has proposals from both Newcastle United and Huddersfield Town, report Gazzetta dello Sport in their Sunday edition.
The 24 year old currently plays for Empoli, where he has a contract lasting until June 2022, having extended his deal during the 2018 summer transfer window.
Zajc is a right footed attacking midfielder and has made 18 Serie A appearances so far this season, ten as a starter.
Gazzetta dello Sport don’t expand much on the claims, other than to say Zajc could ‘pack his bags’ soon, making it clear a move would be in the January market.
Interestingly, the player’s agent Jaka Lucu spoke to Tuttomercatoweb on Saturday and dropped a big hint a move to English football is a possibility: “It is true that at least two Premier League clubs have shown interest in Miha. The profile of a player like him in England is increasingly sought after because he brings unconventional solutions and added value to the team. In my opinion, the speed with which Miha perceives football is ideal for the Premier League. But the market has just begun…”
There’s no confirmation if those two clubs are Newcastle and Huddersfield, but it’s a certainly a coincidence which suggests that could be the case.
