Earlier this month it was reported in Italy that West Ham are interested in signing Gabriel Barbosa, widely known as Gabigol, from Inter Milan.
The Brazilian has been back on loan in his own country with Santos but the finances make a stay there difficult, and Inter have been looking for options.
It was claimed the Hammers had been in talks with Kia Joorabchian and submitted some kind of offer to the agent.
On Sunday, Italy’s Calciomercato note that Gabigol may have played his final home game for Santos. He scored his 18th league goal of the season, and after the match said goodbye to fans, but left the chance of a stay open.
Calciomercato say two teams are on the chase, and they name those as West Ham and Palmeiras.
The Premier League club would find the finances of a deal much easier than either Brazilian side, and Inter will be looking to get the best deal.
Any move is likely to be a loan, with the Italian club probably wanting some kind of suggestion of a future permanent deal.
