Calciomercato.it may be getting ahead of themselves, but they’ve come up with a scenario they feel will be just perfect for AS Roma and provide some help to Arsenal as well.
Danny Welbeck’s serious injury is news around the European sport media and the Italian outlet says it presents an opportunity to ‘kill two birds with one stone’.
It’s claimed Arsenal are already looking for a Welbeck replacement, and that Roma want to send 22 year old Patrik Schick on loan. The idea is he’d provide back-up for Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but still get enough minutes to satisfy him and help his progression.
That, in turn, would make it easier for Roma to then sign Aaron Ramsey, who is coming to the end of his contract with Arsenal in June.
Calciomercato have got it all worked out, but there’s several questions here, not least revolving around Ramsey.
The Welshman can move where he wants in June, clubs doing Arsenal a favour would be irrelevant. On a January transfer, it’s also unlikely the midfielder would simply be happy to go where it may suit his club best.
