Speaking to Marca, Cesc Fabregas refused to rule out a return to Arsenal in the future and this led to speculation that he could rejoin the north London club.
Writing for Mundo Deportivo, journalist Miguel Rico talks about the former Barcelona midfielder in today’s edition of the Catalan newspaper and he mentions a source from the north London club has explained the Gunners are not interested in re-signing their former player.
“We do not consider the return of Cesc,” the source was quoted as saying.
Fabregas’ current deal at Stamford Bridge runs down after the end of the season and he’s struggled to find regular playing time under Chelsea’s current manager Maurizio Sarri.
The report also talks about Barcelona winger Malcom, who has also struggled at the Camp Nou this season and has made only one start in all competitions since swapping Bordeaux for the La Liga winners.
This is when Rico’s mentions the ‘only thing’ the Arsenal source admits is that the Premier League outfit were ‘interested’ in the Brazilian in the summer.
That would pour cold water on Malcom for January and Fabregas for the summer.
