With a total of zero appearances this season, João Mario isn’t really having a good time at Inter Milan. The player wasn’t wanted at the club once his loan spell at West Ham came to an end last summer, but since they couldn’t transfer him out again, he’s now part of the squad.
Now the Portuguese winger could soon return to the Premier League, at least according to what Calcio Mercato Web claims today. They say that agent Kia Joorabchian has been working to move the player to England.
Regarding the interested clubs, the website claims there are four who ‘could be interested’. They divide the sides in two groups: two who could be in a race for a Europa League spot, which are Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City; and two who should fight against relation, which are Southampton and Fulham.
Inter Milan would be happy to negotiate with any of them, as long as they reach the conditions. The best scenario for the Italian side is a permanent move, or a loan with an obligation to buy. All they want is to recover part of the €40m spent to sign him from Sporting.
Wolves were repeatedly linked in the summer, on account of Joao Mario being Portuguese, and it seems the rumours will continue, with Leicester City, Southampton and Fulham joining them.
