Tonight, Newcastle will have an official watch the Champions League match between Club Brugge and AS Monaco, reports Belgian newspaper HLN.
The club will be one of 42 who are sending spies to the match, a huge number with Newcastle one of the ones chosen to highlight.
It’ll likely be Club Brugge on the agenda, given the budget situation.
During the summer, Newcastle were repeatedly linked with a swoop for Club Brugge’s Anthony Limbombe. He eventually moved to Nantes, so it looks like someone else may have caught the eye and require another look.
One to pick out is 21 year old Wesley Moraes, who is one of the top scorers in the Jupiler League so far this season, on six goals.
Central defender Stefano Denswil could be another option, with a move to Brighton previously rumoured for the 25 year old.
Should Newcastle be looking for a right back who can also play in a more attacking role, then 25 year old Clinton Mata could be an option.
Brandon Mechele, also 25, is a name gathering some attention, given the defender was recently called up by Belgium.
