Despite all the rumours surrounding the future of Tiemoué Bakayoko at Milan, an early return to Chelsea isn’t on the cards.
This is what the man in charge of the deal taking the Frenchman from Stamford Bridge to San Siro told the Italian media recently, but it seems no one really believed him.
Corriere dello Sport, looking at the situation in Milan, analyse the Serie A side’s summer transfers and how they haven’t ‘paid off’ yet, and they don’t hold back when it comes to the defensive midfielder.
Labelling him a ‘mysterious object’ who still ‘doesn’t have a defined role’, the Italian newspaper also speculate on what his future holds.
Corriere say ‘it wouldn’t be a surprise if he packed his bags as early as January’, and that’s despite Milan having already paid €5m to Chelsea to acquire his services.
The 24-year-old was, a few weeks ago, apparently given a defined number of games to prove his worth to the team, and, since then, he hasn’t really done that.
Clearly not convincing Gennaro Gattuso in training, Bakayoko’s most recent appearance was a six minute cameo at the end of the 1-0 loss to Inter, in which he also managed to pick up a yellow card.
His next opportunity will most likely be against Real Betis on Thursday in the Europa League.
