Krzysztof Piatek’s amazing start to the season made several things inevitable. He’d be dubbed the next Robert Lewandowski, be linked with Borussia Dortmund, and allegedly be of interest to several Premier League clubs.
All that is happening, and the 23 year old’s form justifies it. It’s hard to avoid hype when a footballer, previously not very well known, scores 14 goals in his first nine competitive matches of the season.
The Genoa player has been dubbed the ‘Mini-Lewandowski’ by German newspaper Bild, as they talk up Dortmund interest. BVB are said to be chasing the player, but Bild make it clear they’ll be up against tough competition.
Bayern Munich, Juventus, Liverpool and Manchester City are all presented as interested in the young Genoa player.
It’s explained that Dortmund hold an advantage over Man City, Liverpool and the others, because Piatek will know how well Lewandowski developed at the club following his 2010 move from Lech Poznan.
At the moment, the transfer stories surrounding the player feel like an attempt to talk up interest, and there’s not a lot of concrete claims of talks, offers, or anything like that.
