Dennis Praet has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some years.
When he was coming through at Anderlecht as a very highly rated youngster, there were repeat stories about English clubs being keen on a potential deal.
It was backed up by scouting records, with many English clubs going to watch Anderlecht and seeing the young talents breaking into the first team. Links continued through several transfer windows but in the end Praet moved to Italian football instead.
Signing for Sampdoria in 2016, the now 24 year old has had a reasonable time in Italy and is on an upward curve.
The links haven’t stopped, with Fulham, Newcastle United and Everton all being the subject of transfer rumours.
Calciomercato this weekend claim Praet is ‘in the sights’ of Leicester City and Southampton. Both the Saints and Foxes have been linked with the player previously, and it’s claimed they’re thinking about him.
There’s nothing more on interest from either Leicester or Southampton, but Calciomercatio point out the Belgian has a €26m release clause at Sampdoria.
