Athletic Club Bilbao have pocketed €80m following the transfer of Kepa Arrizabalaga to Chelsea.
El Correo has a story today that claims the club are planning to reinvest that money in the transfer window to strengthen their squad, and Real Sociedad winger Mikel Oyarzabal is the ‘most desired reinforcement’ for the club.
In addition to the 21-year-old, the Basque outfit have also set their sights on Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera.
The 28-year-old left Bilbao and moved to Old Trafford in 2014, with whom he still has one year left on his contract. Eduardo Berizzo’s side contacted the Spaniard, but he ruled out a return to his former club this summer.
El Correo mentions that Jose Mourinho is unlikely to allow his player to leave the club on deadline day, especially when he is frustrated with the lack of signings.
Meanwhile, AS reported on Wednesday that Herrera plans to see out the remainder of his Manchester United contract.
