Pepe to Wolves hasn’t really been getting a lot of coverage in Portugal, which is perhaps strange given the connections.
The defender is of course a big figure in Portuguese football and has been for some time, and Wolves are the country’s adopted English club given their recruitment in recent seasons and association with agent Jorge Mendes.
Claims have been mainly pushed elsewhere and on Friday we covered a story from Chile which stated Chilean Enzo Roco was moving to Besiktas because Pepe has an offer from Wolves and the Turkish club want to cover themselves in the position.
O Jogo report that Pepe can reinforce the ‘Portuguese arm’ of the Premier League club and that he’s ‘on the Wolves radar’.
This one doesn’t feel especially serious yet and it would be a big ask for a 35 year old defender to adapt to English football and the pressure his status would bring.
From Besiktas’ perspective they’d likely listen to offers so they can get rid of Pepe’s big wages.
