Brahim Díaz made 10 appearances for Manchester City in all competitions last season but only one start, which came in the League Cup. He came on as a substitute on five occasions in the Premier League.

The Malaga-born attacking midfielder has one year left on his current deal at the Etihad. Mundo Deportivo hails him as ‘one of the greatest promises in Spain’ and ‘one of the great hopes of Manchester City’.

The Catalan newspaper claims Diaz has received several offers to leave Pep Guardiola’s side in the summer transfer window. He spoke about his plans for the 2018/19 season and explained he aims to get more minutes with the first team at City.

Diaz is also aware of the growing interest for his signature and also ruled out a loan move to Girona because he wants to stay with the English champions for a “long time”.

“Yes, this year we will continue. It is a luxury to be able to learn from the best and live with them. I want to continue my growth, succeed at City and win titles,” Diaz told Mundo Deportivo.

“Play as much as you can and keep learning. It is clear that I would like to play more minutes, because I am ambitious. Like staying at the club for a long time.”

On Girona, he said, “No, nothing. I do not know anything about that. I only know that I’m still with City. They are just rumours. I am totally focused on my team.”
