Prince Oniangue is becoming a slightly irritating transfer rumour. For weeks, French club Caen have been interested, they confirmed that to their own local media, but feet are dragging.
Caen had wanted the Wolves player to be in place for the start of their preseason, which is a reasonable plan. The problem is that started on Thursday and it still doesn’t feel like the French club is making big strides forward to complete the deal.
For Wolves it’s certainly not the most important transfer business going on right now, so Caen need to push things if they have any intention of getting the player in a reasonable period of time.
La Manche Libre newspaper says Oniangue is the ‘hottest file’ for Caen right which would give some indication of things actually happening, but they have no more than that to add. The ‘following weeks’ should give Caen’s fans ‘some indication’ of what their squad will look like next season.
There are ‘grand manoeuvres’ going on at the club, it’s claimed, but it seems those are also slow manoeuvres.
