The Catalan media are getting every last inch possible out of Yerry Mina’s good performances at the World Cup.

The Colombia defender was a star for his country as they progressed through the group before being knocked out by England, on penalties, in the round of sixteen.

Barcelona had been regretting the January signing, if their local newspapers were to be believed, and didn’t feel Mina was close to being able to fit into their team.

There was talk of a loan to a La Liga club further down the table, and Barca were keen to see the back of the defender.

Now the same Catalan media reckon half of Europe is interested, and, inevitably, Manchester United have been brought into the equation. It’s claimed Jose Mourinho’s club are moving around the player, which would mean they’re considering his signing.

Quite what Mourinho would do with Mina is anyone’s guess, because he’s not a defender who isn’t prone to mistakes and, if the Catalan media are to be believed, hasn’t shown an understanding of the European game and tactics within it.

But bringing in Manchester United will help hype the story further.
