Fotomac report Trabzonspor are still interested in signing Chancel Mbemba from Newcastle United.
Mdemba has been linked with the Turkish club in the past week.
Trabzonspor are looking to sign a central defender this summer with Jan Durica, Tomas Hubocan and Ugur Demirok all leaving the club.
They’ve been linked with Sunderland’s Papy Djilobodji and Chelsea’s Kenneth Omeruo in recent weeks, and Fotomac say the Turkish club’s manager Unal Karaman is also keen on working with Mbemba.
According to Fotomac, Trabzonspor have made an offer to loan the Newcastle United defender, with an option to buy. There are no details of the loan fee or what the right of redemption would be.
The DR Congo international has also been linked with a move to FC Porto, and although an agreement at one stage seemed close with the Portuguese champions, things have slowed down.
Guven how tough Newcastle have been with Porto over a permanent move, it’s got to be considered unlikely they’d prefer a loan offer from Turkey.
Mbemba is expected to leave the Premier League club this summer after playing just 11 games last season in all competitions. The player is under contract at Newcastle United until June 2020.
