Borussia Dortmund still ‘firmly expect’ Jadon Sancho to leave the club this summer, with Chelsea having joined Manchester United on the list of clubs ‘interested’ in the forward.
That’s according to Sport 1, who say the player is still likely to be a major transfer story to keep an eye on this summer.
As you’ll know, Sancho was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United throughout last summer, with it believed he was high on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s wishlist.
Ultimately a move never happened, with United refusing to meet Dortmund’s huge asking price for their star.
That has not seen an end to the rumours, though, with several reports in Germany indicating that Manchester United remain keen on the player ahead of this summer.
Those rumours were recently dismissed in England, where it was claimed that United had actually turned their attention elsewhere and pumped the brakes on a possible deal.
Whether that’s the case remains to be seen, but Sport 1 say that BVB’s bosses ‘still firmly expect’ Sancho to leave in the summer.
They don’t explicitly state that a move to Manchester United is on the cards but say that they remain ‘interested’ alongside Chelsea, who are also in the mix.
The link to Chelsea is an interesting one, given they were also named as suitors over the last year, but that appeared to have cooled with their capture of Hakim Ziyech.
However, he’s recently been linked with a departure from Stamford Bridge, and perhaps that could open the door for a move for Sancho.
Either way, Dortmund are fully expecting their star man to leave this summer, so now would be a good time to prepare yourself for a new summer of rumours.
