Dalkurd midfielder Rewan Amin has confirmed to the Swedish media Arsenal were interested in him when he was playing in the Netherlands with Heerenveen.

The 22 year old has started to make a name for himself for Dalkurd, but his career path could have much different after Arsenal spoke to his agent.

Speaking to Fotboll Direkt, Amin was asked about the reported interest from Arsenal earlier in his career: “He (Amin’s agent) talked to me about the interest, but after thinking with my parents, we decided to stay. Heerenveen has received many players over the years and I felt it better to stay and focus on doing the best every day.”

Amin is regarded as one of Dalkurd’s brightest talents after the defensive midfielder joined the Swedish side on a three year contract last year.

The youngster failed to make the breakthrough with Heerenveen when he was being tracked by Arsenal, but has played nearly thirty games for Dalkurd since his arrival in 2017.

Amin has represented the Netherlands at youth level, but is eligible to play for Iraq, after fleeing the war torn country when he was young.
