N’Baye Niang earned a lot of praise during his early days at AC Milan, but his development slowed down a little after that. Combined with off the field issues, and an injury picked up from a car crash, Niang didn’t seem to have fortune on his side.
The French forward is still very young and has started the season strongly at AC Milan this season. The 21-year-old has been speaking to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, and responded to claims linking him with a move to the Premier League.
Niang revealed it’d be a dream to play in the Premier League one day, but rejected a move to Leicester City in January.
He said: “I hope one day I move to the Premier League, and to play there is a dream of mine, the right football for my style of play.
“In January, two to three days before the derby. I called my agent and he told me ‘Leicester made an offer to AC Milan’.
“I stayed, and without regrets. Even after the title win of Leicester, the risk was to play as a back-up to Vardy. There was a lot of money offered, they were ready to pay €20m and then maybe don’t play me.”
Niang spent the second half of the last season on loan at Genoa, before returning to AC Milan, and he’ll be hoping this season can go the way his early career suggested.
