Manchester United agreed a deal to sign Arnau Puigmal in 2017, taking the now 20-year-old from the Espanyol youth system. He’d been very highly rated in Spain, and the swoop was seen as a good one for the Premier League club.

He hasn’t been able to make the breakthrough to the first team squad, and reports in November suggested an exit was on the cards.

Barcelona had been keen on the midfielder when he was just 16-years-of-age, but saw him go to Espanyol instead. According to claims on November 21st, Barca were keen on opening talks to take Puigmal in the January transfer window.

There was optimism a deal would be done, and yet January came and went without anything happening. Barcelona may well have wanted Puigmal for their B team, and there’s a reasonable chance he didn’t think that was the step needed after Manchester United.

Earlier this month, the youngster announced he’d be leaving the English club this summer, and it’s now reported in Spain that’s he’s found a new home. Grada3 state Puigmal will be signing a five year deal with Almeria, where he’ll meet up with Largie Ramazani, who also moved from Manchester United.
