Manchester City have taken an interest in West Ham United’s Lucas Paquetá, according to multiple claims.
Operating as an attacking midfielder and in the middle of the pitch, he managed five goals and seven assists last season. His form has convinced the Citizens to take further steps to secure his services.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who say Manchester City are ready to offer £70m [€81.4m] to West Ham for the 25-year-old.
This is relayed by Globo Esporte, who then provide their own update on Manchester City’s desire to sign the Brazil international.
They state Pep Guardiola has requested the treble winners sign the former Lyon man and this has seen them table a €70m bid.
It’s further claimed the Hammers are yet to respond but are expected to reject it and demand a higher fee for the South American. Globo don’t mention of the fee needed to convince David Moyes’ side to sell Paquetá.
UOL also state Manchester City have made an offer of €70m for Paquetá. He’s ‘inclined to accept’ a move to the Etihad but the report adds the player won’t force a move away from West Ham.
Paquetá won the Europa Conference League with West Ham last season, assisting Jarrod Bowen’s 90th minute winner against Fiorentina in the final.
