Following reports from the English media today claiming that Brentford placed a €30m bid for Fiorentina’s Nico Gonzalez, it’s now time for the Italian press to give the rumour a response.

Website TuttoMercatoWeb is the one featuring a story about it, and according to their own information, a move to the Bees isn’t something that attracts the winger.

The outlet writes that despite Brentford’s intention ‘to get serious’ about the signing, that scenario does not ‘warm up’ the Argentine player.

It’s said that Gonzalez is currently inclined to decline any offer made by Thomas Frank’s side.

Despite chasing information on the player’s stance, TuttoMercatoWeb couldn’t verify if Brentford’s bid was already made.

Still, it gives the idea that besides having to make a big effort to find a deal with Fiorentina, the Bees may still have to work on strong arguments to convince the player as well.

Gonzalez has a contract with La Viola running until 2026, and is apparently happy to stay there in case the market opportunities aren’t attractive enough.
