The name of Fulham fullback Kenny Tete was today mentioned in Voetbal Primeur‘s podcast Done Deal.
The reason for that is the alleged interested that Ajax reportedly have in signing the 28-year-old this summer.
Speaking of targets for the Eredivisie side, Voetbal Premieur editor-in-chief Dennie van Laar claimed that the Fulham player may want the move.
“I know the people around Tete well, I know how fond he is of Ajax. It’s 100% he’d listen to an offer from ‘his’ Ajax.”
Tete had ups and downs with Fulham this season, not only because of injuries, but also because Marco Silva kept him on the bench for most games. That’s why he only has 1145 minutes over 18 appearances so far.
The fullback, who joined the Whites on a €3.2m move from Lyon in 2020, sees his contract with the London side expiring this summer, although they do have an option to extend it for an extra year.
Since he still has a fairly good market valuation, with Transfermarkt having it as €15m, perhaps the Whites won’t let him go for free, and it’d then be up to Ajax to put a good bid on the table and hope he can get back to the club where he started his professional career.
