West Ham United are set to complete the signing of Paris FC’s Mohamadou Kanté this summer.
That’s at least what Foot Mercato are reporting, and they say the 18-year-old is in London to carry out transfer formalities.
This indicates West Ham have already found an agreement with the Ligue 2 side to sign the midfielder.
It’s claimed the youngster successfully cleared medical tests with the Hammers on Monday. He will sign a five-year deal with the Premier League side.
The French teenager won’t be part of Julen Lopetegui’s plans this season. Instead, the London club have decided to send him back to Paris FC on a loan deal.
Foot Mercato make no mention of the fee West Ham are offering to Paris FC to acquire Kanté’s signature.
The deal should go through soon and only the official announcement is missing for the transfer to be made official.
Kanté made nine appearances for Paris FC U19s last season, managing two goals in the process. He hasn’t yet made an appearance for their senior team and could get promoted this season, in order to continue his development.
