Five days ago, RMC Sport journalist Loïc Tanzi explained Brighton & Hove Albion had positioned themselves to sign Paris Saint-Germain youngster Romaric Yapi.
It was also stated the Seagulls had opened talks with the 19-year-old’s entourage for a transfer, but the suggestion was the discussions were still in the initial stages.
France Football‘s latest report on the teenager indicates he is close to joining Graham Potter’s side on deadline day.
Yapi is set to arrive in England on Thursday to undergo medical examinations with the Premier League club, after which he will sign his first professional contract with them.
He represented PSG in the UEFA Youth League last season and was courted by Wolves and Nimes. However, Brighton are now set to acquire Yapi’s services.
Yapi’s impending move to Brighton has also been reported by Goal in France.
Thiago Motta, who stepped down as PSG U19 manager in July, converted Yapi from a righter wing to a right back last season.
