Look, we’re not ones to say things couldn’t have gone much worse for Arsenal this summer, but things couldn’t really have gone much worse for Arsenal this summer.
Yes, they managed to sign Alexandre Lacazette for a lot of money, and managed to keep Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil at the club for an extra season, but at what cost?
The way things are currently going, it seems unlikely both stars will sign new deals before their contracts run out next summer.
Add on top of that failed efforts in signing both Kylian Mbappé and Thomas Lemar from Monaco, and Arsène Wenger has a rather tepid transfer window to present, once again, to his fans.
The new Inter signing, who is there on a two year loan from Caen with a view to buy, spoke to Premium Sport on Wednesday about his move to Italy, relayed by FCInter News, and explained where else he could have gone.
He said: “It’s a new football, but I hope to improve a lot. I’ve arrived in a new team who wanted me. Paris Saint-Germain wanted me, but expected me to progress first.
“Arsenal, on the other hand, contacted my agents to sign me straight away. That was before the interest from Monaco and Lyon, but I decided to come here.”
Just the words Inter fans will want to hear. Arsenal’s, however? Maybe not.
